Clinical Experience

Dr. Oviedo is the Beyond Limits Pediatric Therapy Center Co-Founder and Director and has over 26 years of experience as a Pediatric Audiologist and working with other ancillary health care providers such as OT, PT and Speech-Language Pathologists to provide comprehensive care to the children she serves.

Dr. Oviedo started her career with Children’s Health Care of Atlanta (CHOA) in 1992 where she developed her love for pediatric audiology. In 1996, she began working at Northside Hospital, where she was an intricate team member in implementing and developing the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening programs that are currently used across the country. The developed program remains a model of excellence. Since 2001, Dr. Oviedo has been involved with Georgia Universal Newborn Hearing Screening and Intervention program (EDHI) and routinely attends meetings at both state and national levels. In 2009, Dr. Oviedo was asked to serve as the Program Coordinator for the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening program at DeKalb Medical Center where she implemented a standard of care and brought the hospital to current standards following the Joint Committee on Infant Hearing (JCIH) protocols. Dr. Oviedo managed this program from 2009-2015. Dr. Oviedo has 20 years of experience working in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and has extensive training and experience in working with premature babies.

Dr. Oviedo has a passion for newborn hearing screenings and providing follow-up evaluations, counseling and referrals for those children diagnosed with a hearing loss. She also enjoys working with toddlers, children and adolescents to 21 years of age. Dr. Oviedo focuses on a family centered care model and provides appropriate referrals and parent counseling as parent education is the key to success for a newborn or child diagnosed with a hearing loss.

Working with newborns, infants and children requires constant interface with parents, classroom teachers, primary care physicians, as well as ancillary health care providers such as occupational, speech and physical therapists. With her vast experience and ability to collaborate within a network of professionals, Dr. Oviedo excels in getting the desired results to take her patients beyond their limits.

Dr. Oviedo is also honored to serve America’s Veterans by providing comprehensive hearing evaluations for members of the United States Armed Forces referred by Veterans Evaluation Services (VES).
